Description:

Fun! Adventure! Friends! That's what New Mexico Space Academy summer science camps are all about! Our goal is to provide a safe and fun environment for your aspiring young scientist to learn and laugh with new friends from all over the world. Each camp offers a unique opportunity for hands-on learning, teamwork and imagination. Themes for 2014 are.

  • Homesteading Mars: Red Planet, Green House (design and build a habitat on Mars)
  • Giant Leap: Space 101 (introduction to space)
  • Alien Hunter: Mission to Europa (search for extraterrestrial life, including Alien Autopsy)
  • Rex Rocket’s Asteroid Roundup! (dinosaurs and asteroids – and avoiding the Big Rock)

NM Space Academy summer science camps are held at the New Mexico Museum of Space History in Alamogordo, NM. Sessions are conducted throughout the Museum complex and at various local field trip sites (field trips are designated for certain age levels only).

NM Space Academy also offers programs that can be taken to schools and public events, year-round, including The Awful Truth About Zero-G, Alien Autopsy, and Flying Tea Kettles (basics of rocketry).
