The New Mexico Academy of Science hosts an annual general meeting with a variety of events often including a distinguished keynote speaker, concurrent sessions, panels, poster presentations, and competitions. Participants include science professionals, university professors, graduate students, and secondary students. This event is held in a public location and is often co-sponsored by other science and science education entities. This annual meeting is held in early November and is open to the public. The NMAS Outstanding Science Teacher Award is presented at this event.
